Pakistani Rupee Maintains Positive Momentum Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee continued its upward trend against the US dollar on Friday, posting a slight gain in the interbank market.

The local currency closed at Rs. 281.55, registering an increase of Rs. 0.01 from the previous day. This marks the 26th consecutive gain for the rupee against the greenback. On Thursday, the rupee had closed at Rs. 281.56.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, in the open market, the US dollar was quoted at Rs. 282.5 for buying and Rs. 282.8 for selling.

Other major currencies also showed mixed movements. The euro rose by Rs. 1.20, closing at Rs. 330.40 compared to Thursday’s Rs. 329.20. The Japanese yen remained stable at Rs. 1.90, while the British pound gained Rs. 1 to settle at Rs. 381.56.

Meanwhile, the UAE dirham inched up by one paisa to close at Rs. 76.66, and the Saudi riyal remained steady at Rs. 75.04.

The rupee’s continued strength against the US dollar reflects steady demand and positive market sentiment, though analysts caution that currency movements remain sensitive to global and domestic economic developments.
