Islamabad Reports 25 New Dengue Cases, Total Reaches 458
Islamabad continues to battle rising dengue infections as 25 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of patients in the capital to 458, health authorities confirmed on Sunday.
According to the District Health Officer (DHO), 21 of the newly infected patients were shifted to hospitals for treatment, while four are being treated at home under isolation. Interestingly, the figure matches the number of new cases recorded a day earlier, highlighting a steady upward trend in the outbreak.
Cases Spread Across Rural and Urban Areas
The official report revealed that both rural and urban zones of Islamabad remain equally affected, with 13 cases emerging from each side.

Bhara Kahu recorded the highest rise with six fresh cases.

Rawat and Ali Pur followed with three each.

In urban localities, two patients were confirmed in each of the G-5, G-6, F-6, G-7, and F-10 sectors.

Single cases were also reported from G-11, E-11, H-9, F-13, G-9, and Tarlai-II.
Anti-Dengue Measures Intensified
To curb the spread, health teams carried out extensive surveillance and fumigation drives. Within the last 24 hours alone:

343 locations were inspected.

14 spots were identified as high-risk dengue “hotspots.”

133 areas were fogged to control mosquito breeding.
Authorities also took strict action against business establishments found negligent in implementing preventive measures.
