PM Shehbaz Sharif Heads to Saudi Arabia for Key Talks with Crown Prince

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Riyadh on Wednesday for an official visit, where he is set to meet Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The visit comes at the invitation of the Saudi Crown Prince and aims to strengthen the long-standing bilateral ties between the two nations, rooted in economic cooperation, strategic partnerships, and shared Islamic heritage.

According to the Foreign Office (FO), the leaders will hold a bilateral meeting to review the full spectrum of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations. Discussions are expected to cover regional and global developments of mutual interest, with a focus on formalizing cooperation across diverse sectors.

β€œThe visit provides an important opportunity to consolidate the historic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while exploring new avenues of collaboration for the benefit of both countries’ peoples,” the FO statement said.

PM Shehbaz Sharif is accompanied by key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Environment Minister Musadik Malik, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, highlighting the importance of this high-level delegation.

The visit is expected to further enhance strategic, economic, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
