(Sports Correspondent: Imran Sohail)

Bethpage Black Course Hole-by-Hole Guide – Ryder Cup 2025

The 45th Ryder Cup, set for September 26-28, will be contested at the challenging Black Course at Bethpage State Park. Here’s a detailed look at what players can expect on each hole:

Front Nine

  • Hole 1 (397 yds, Par 4): Elevated tee with a right bend, small green, and front-right bunker. Short or overspun shots may roll off.

  • Hole 2 (389 yds, Par 4): Short par 4 with elevated green and bunkers guarding both sides. Left side slopes sharply.

  • Hole 3 (210 yds, Par 3): Angled shallow green with left-side bunkers; long shots risk dropping behind the green.

  • Hole 4 (517 yds, Par 5): Slightly short par 5; elevated green with cross bunkers. Safe play to the right for a simple pitch.

  • Hole 5 (478 yds, Par 4): Right-side bunkers and small green; ideal line is down the right.

  • Hole 6 (408 yds, Par 4): Straightforward hole with narrow fairway flanked by bunkers; drop in elevation adds challenge.

  • Hole 7 (524 yds, Par 4): Plays as par 5 in public rounds; approach requires long iron to non-elevated green guarded by bunkers.

  • Hole 8 (210 yds, Par 3): Elevated tee over pond; front bank and bunkers protect green, short shots risk water.

  • Hole 9 (460 yds, Par 4): Left-bending fairway with deep front bunkers protecting flat green.

Back Nine

  • Hole 10 (502 yds, Par 4): Straight hole, strong tee shot needed; elevated green protected by bunkers.

  • Hole 11 (435 yds, Par 4): Blind tee to tucked fairway; green has false front, making chips tricky.

  • Hole 12 (496 yds, Par 4): Challenging tee shot over cross bunkers; large, undulating green.

  • Hole 13 (608 yds, Par 5): Longest hole, reachable in two; back-to-front sloping green with deep right bunker.

  • Hole 14 (161 yds, Par 3): Short hole with valley approach; sloping green and large bunkers demand precision.

  • Hole 15 (477 yds, Par 4): Left-bending hole crossing road; steep climb to elevated green with deep front bunkers.

  • Hole 16 (490 yds, Par 4): Tee shot drops 60 feet; narrow fairway to angled green protected by bunkers.

  • Hole 17 (179 yds, Par 3): Slightly elevated green with spine in middle; deep bunkers guard all sides.

  • Hole 18 (411 yds, Par 4): Downhill tee to narrow fairway with bunkers; elevated green slopes severely to front.
