According to students, the Lawrence Road examination center closed its gates exactly at 9:00 AM, as per official policy. Candidates who arrived just minutes late were denied entry.
“We reached around 9:05, but the staff refused to let us in,” said one student. “It was raining heavily, and traffic was completely jammed.”
Parents Blame Rain, Demand Leniency
Parents of several students said that overnight rainfall had caused major traffic disruptions, making it difficult for students to reach on time. They urged the board to show flexibility during extreme weather, suggesting a five-minute grace period in such situations.
“Many children prepared all year, and now they might lose an entire academic session for being a few minutes late,” said a concerned parent.
BISE Lahore Stands by Its Rules
A spokesperson for BISE Lahore clarified that the reporting time for all annual exams was 8:00 AM, and the gates close strictly at 9:00 AM.
“No student is allowed to enter the examination hall after 9 AM under any circumstances,” the official said, emphasizing that the rule is meant to ensure fairness and discipline across all centers.
