Lahore Qalandars Announce Replacement for Injured Bangladeshi Player in PSL 11

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have announced Sri Lankan batting all-rounder Charith Asalanka as a replacement for injured Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batter Parvez Hossain Emon for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).
Emon was ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury during a recent match against Multan Sultans in Lahore. The injury occurred following an on-field collision, which resulted in a ligament issue and forced him out of the tournament after three appearances this season.
According to team sources, Asalanka brings valuable international experience and versatility as a left-handed batter and part-time off-spinner. His inclusion is expected to strengthen Lahore Qalandars’ middle order as the team moves into the crucial stage of the tournament.
The Sri Lankan player is expected to join the squad ahead of their upcoming match against Quetta Gladiators on April 17.
Lahore Qalandars have had a mixed campaign so far, currently placed sixth on the points table with two wins from five matches. Their recent performance also highlighted batting struggles after being bowled out for 97 while chasing 174 against Peshawar Zalmi.
In that match, Peshawar Zalmi posted 173/7 in 20 overs, with notable contributions from Kusal Mendis (74) and Babar Azam (43). Lahore’s response fell short as several batters failed to build momentum.
Bowling performances from Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, and others played a key role in restricting Lahore Qalandars’ chase.
The team will now look to bounce back in upcoming fixtures as the tournament progresses.
