Sindh Announces Public Holiday on Labour Day (May 1)

The Sindh government has officially declared May 1, 2026, as a public holiday across the province in observance of Labour Day.

According to a notification issued by the Services General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD), the holiday will be observed on Friday in all government offices, as well as autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils operating under the provincial administration.

The notification further states that the holiday will apply throughout the province, with the exception of essential services, which will continue to operate as required.

The order was issued on April 22, 2026, and approved by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah.

Similar announcements are expected from the federal government and other provinces regarding the Labour Day holiday.
