Govt Announces Another Small Relief in Petrol and Diesel Prices

The federal government has announced another reduction in petroleum prices, providing slight relief to consumers across the country.

According to official sources, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 6 per liter, bringing the new rate down to Rs. 403.78 per liter. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel has become cheaper by Rs. 6.80 per liter and will now be available at Rs. 402.78 per liter.

The revised fuel prices came into effect from Saturday, May 23, 2026.

This marks the second consecutive cut in petroleum prices, following last week’s reduction of Rs. 5 per liter on both petrol and diesel.

Earlier this month, fuel prices had reached record levels after a significant increase pushed petrol to Rs. 414.78 per liter and diesel to Rs. 414.58 per liter.

The Petroleum Division later issued an official notification confirming the latest fuel rates.
