Supreme Court Announces Summer Schedule to Support Case Hearings

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced its summer vacation arrangements for 2026, introducing measures aimed at maintaining judicial operations and facilitating the timely hearing of cases during the recess period.

According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court’s Public Relations Department, the decision was made following consultations among judges at the request of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Under the new arrangement, judges will spend a greater portion of their working time at the Supreme Court’s principal seat in Islamabad during the summer recess. The court said this approach is intended to ensure continued availability for case hearings and support the efficient functioning of the judicial system.

The statement noted that, where applicable, the time allocated to branch registries will be adjusted while maintaining judicial responsibilities and court operations.

The Supreme Court emphasized that the initiative is designed to facilitate the uninterrupted hearing and disposal of cases during the vacation period and to make effective use of institutional resources.

Officials also clarified that the actual summer vacation period available to judges will remain four weeks, consistent with previous years.

According to the court, the arrangement reflects ongoing efforts to enhance judicial efficiency, improve case management, and support access to timely justice for litigants across the country.
