Punjab Sends Clinic-on-Wheels Mobile Health Units to Gilgit-Baltistan
The Punjab government has expanded its mobile healthcare initiative by sending six “Clinic on Wheels” units to Gilgit-Baltistan to support basic medical services in remote areas.
According to Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir, the mobile clinics are fully equipped with essential medical facilities and necessary medicines to assist primary healthcare delivery in underserved regions.
Officials stated that the initiative aims to improve access to healthcare in areas where medical facilities are limited or difficult to reach. The mobile units are expected to provide basic treatment, consultations, and preventive healthcare services at the community level.
The health minister said the program reflects an effort to extend public health services beyond Punjab and improve healthcare access in remote and rural regions of Pakistan. He added that the initiative follows public demand for expanding mobile health services to other parts of the country.
Authorities further noted that the “Clinic on Wheels” program is part of broader efforts to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure and ensure that essential medical services are available closer to people’s homes in hard-to-reach areas.
