Hot and Humid Weather to Persist in Karachi, PMD Says

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast continued hot and humid weather conditions for Karachi, with no chance of rainfall expected today.

According to the Met Office, the city remains under a hot weather spell. Southwesterly winds are blowing at around 16 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 33 km/h, adding to the overall discomfort.

The minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 30°C, while humidity levels stood at 69%, making conditions feel hotter than the actual temperature. The current temperature is around 34°C, with the maximum expected to range between 36°C and 38°C during the day.

Meanwhile, several parts of the country continue to experience varying weather conditions. Heavy rain, strong winds, and hailstorms were reported in different regions of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In weather-related incidents, at least three people lost their lives while seven others were injured. In a village near Kandhkot, one person died and three others were injured due to lightning. In Rojhan, strong winds reportedly caused solar panels to fall, resulting in two deaths and one injury.

Sadiqabad also experienced strong winds and heavy rain, which caused damage to trees, signboards, walls, and electricity poles. Three people were injured in the incident.

In several other areas, the severe weather brought temporary relief from heat. Sukkur experienced strong winds, rain, and hail, while Kandhkot, Jacobabad, Thul, and Garhi Khairo witnessed dust storms and gusty winds.

Shahdadkot and nearby areas also received rain and thunderstorms, with hail reported in parts of Qubo Saeed Khan. Rain and wind activity was also recorded in Mehar and surrounding areas.

In Balochistan, districts including Nasirabad and Dera Murad Jamali saw rain and hailstorms, improving weather conditions.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, rain was reported in Mirpur, Mangla, and Islamgarh, while Abbottabad and the Galiyat region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also received significant rainfall.
