Lahore Board Moves Toward Fully Online Admission System for Students

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore is considering a shift toward a fully online admission system that would eliminate the need for students to submit physical copies of admission forms.

According to official sources, the proposed system aims to make the examination registration process completely paperless, allowing students to complete all steps digitally.

Currently, although students apply online for matriculation and intermediate examinations, they are still required to submit printed admission forms to the board. The new system would remove this requirement entirely.

Each year, approximately 600,000 students appear in matric examinations under the Lahore Board, while more than 500,000 candidates participate in intermediate exams, highlighting the scale of the potential transition.

Education officials stated that the proposed digital system could reduce administrative workload, minimize delays, and save students from repeated visits to board offices.

The initiative is also expected to improve efficiency and simplify the overall examination registration process for both public and private institutions.

A final decision on the implementation of the fully paperless system is expected during the upcoming meeting of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen.

If approved, the reform could benefit more than one million students annually by streamlining admissions and reducing reliance on manual documentation.
