Christian Eriksen “Doing Well” After On-Field Collapse, Denmark Confirms

Denmark international midfielder Christian Eriksen is reported to be in stable condition and expected to leave hospital soon after collapsing during a match, according to the Danish national team.

The 34-year-old player went down during the 65th minute of Denmark’s friendly match against Ukraine in Odense on Sunday after appearing to clutch his chest. Medical staff immediately attended to him on the field.

According to the Danish Football Association, Eriksen was able to walk off the pitch with assistance and was later taken to Odense University Hospital for further medical checks.

Team physician Morten Boesen said Eriksen is in good spirits and recovering well. He also confirmed that the player has been in contact with his family and is expected to be discharged soon.

The federation added that it is maintaining close communication with the player and providing full support to him and the team.

Eriksen previously experienced a serious cardiac incident during Euro 2021, after which he underwent medical treatment and was fitted with a heart device before returning to professional football.

He currently plays club football in Germany with Wolfsburg under contract through the 2026–27 season.

Officials have not reported any further complications following the latest incident, and updates are expected as his condition continues to improve.
