Lahore Adds Three New Centers for Commercial Driving Licenses
The Lahore Traffic Police has expanded its commercial driving license services by opening three additional centers across the city to facilitate rickshaw drivers.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, drivers can now obtain commercial driving licenses from four locations, including Manawan, Ichhra Licensing Center Town, Greater Iqbal Park, and Wapda Town.
Previously, the Manawan center was the only facility available, which often led to long queues and delays. With the addition of new centers, authorities aim to reduce waiting times and make the licensing process more convenient for drivers.
The new centers will operate from Thursday to Sunday, providing greater flexibility for applicants.
Officials said the expansion is part of efforts to make public services more accessible and efficient for citizens, particularly professional drivers who depend on timely licensing.
The Chief Traffic Officer also mentioned that QR-code-based panic buttons will be introduced in rickshaws after registration to enhance passenger safety and improve emergency response systems.
The initiative is expected to streamline the licensing process while improving overall road safety standards in the city.
