Solar Panel Prices Drop in Pakistan After Fuel Price Reduction
Solar panel prices have started to decline in Lahore following the recent reduction in petroleum product prices. According to market sources, prices have fallen by approximately Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 9,000, depending on the type and capacity of the solar panels.
Why Prices Are Falling
Traders say the decrease is mainly linked to lower transportation and logistics costs after the fuel price cut. They expect solar equipment prices to decrease further if fuel rates remain stable in the coming weeks.
Impact on Battery Prices
Industry sources also report that solar battery prices, which had previously increased due to higher fuel and transport costs, are now expected to ease.
Earlier, battery prices had risen by Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 38,000 per unit during periods of high fuel prices.
Relief for Consumers
The overall reduction in solar system costs is expected to benefit consumers, especially those planning to shift toward renewable energy due to rising electricity bills.
Experts believe that continued stability in fuel prices could further support affordability in the solar energy market.
