EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Erling Haaland continued his strong FIFA World Cup campaign by scoring two goals to help Norway secure a 3-2 victory over Senegal and advance to the Round of 32 on Monday.

The Norwegian striker increased his tournament tally to four goals with another influential performance as his team earned a place in the knockout stage.

Despite facing a determined Senegal side, Norway managed to hold on for an important win in a closely contested match. The result ensured the Scandinavian nation progressed to the next phase of the tournament.

Speaking after the match, Haaland expressed satisfaction with both his personal contribution and the team’s achievement.

“It’s my job to score goals, and I’m happy to help the team,” he said.

Following the final whistle, Norway’s players celebrated with their supporters at MetLife Stadium, joining fans in a traditional Viking-inspired celebration that has become popular among Norwegian football followers.

Team captain Martin Ødegaard and his teammates thanked supporters for their backing as Norway celebrated qualification for the knockout rounds.

With momentum building and Haaland in impressive form, Norway will now turn its attention to the Round of 32 as it looks to continue its World Cup journey.
