England Name Uncapped James Coles in Squad for India T20 Series

England have included uncapped all-rounder James Coles in their squad for the upcoming five-match T20 International series against India next month.

The 22-year-old has been selected after strong performances for Sussex, where he has regularly batted in the top order and contributed with his left-arm spin bowling.

Coles has also impressed at the England Lions level, including recent appearances against South Africa. His consistent form in domestic and franchise cricket has earned him a place in the senior squad.

Earlier this year, Coles attracted significant attention at the inaugural Hundred player auction, where he was signed by London Spirit for a record fee.

National selector Marcus North said Coles had earned his call-up through performances over the past year in both domestic T20 competitions and international development matches.

He is part of an expanded 17-player England squad for the series, which begins in Durham on July 1.

The squad also includes several established names such as Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Harry Brook (captain), and Adil Rashid, alongside emerging talents like Sonny Baker and Jordan Cox, who recently made their Test debuts.

England will look to test new combinations as they prepare for a busy international schedule leading into major ICC tournaments.
