Pakistani Students Earn Top Honors at Global Model UN Singapore

A team of Pakistani students has achieved international recognition after being named World Champions and Best Delegation at the Global Model UN Singapore.

The students from Westminster Islamabad competed against more than 700 participants representing over 50 countries at the international event, organized by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA).

Pakistani Team Wins Multiple Awards

The delegation consisted of 10 students, who collectively secured eight Best Diplomacy Awards and two opportunities to deliver speeches during the plenary sessions.

Four members of the team — Rujwa Fatima, Mohammad Zurez, Asna Ahmad and Syed Rehan Shah — were just 12 years old. Their performances received appreciation during the competition.

Two other students, Nushwa Fatima and Saifullah Omar Mufti, were among only 12 participants from around the world selected to address the opening ceremony.

Students Represent Pakistan on Global Platform

During her speech, Nushwa Fatima discussed the importance of international cooperation and highlighted the need for reforms within the United Nations.

The students also showcased Pakistan’s cultural heritage during the Global Cultural Night, which was held as part of the conference on August 14.

The event provided participants with an opportunity to represent their countries through diplomacy, public speaking, discussions and cultural activities.

International Recognition for Young Participants

According to the event organizers, the Pakistani students received appreciation for their professionalism, preparation, communication skills and diplomatic performances.

The Global Model UN Singapore was held from August 11 to 15, bringing together young participants from countries around the world.

The achievement highlights the growing participation of Pakistani students in international academic and leadership events and provides a positive example of the opportunities available to young students on global platforms.
