Pakistan Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices Again

The federal government has announced another increase in petrol and high-speed diesel prices, with the latest rates taking effect from September 8, according to the latest fuel price update issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The price of petrol has been increased by Rs. 5.58 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs. 364.35 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has risen by Rs. 4.18 per litre, bringing it to Rs. 385.95 per litre.

The latest increase comes just a day after another upward revision. On September 7, petrol prices were increased by Rs. 12.90 per litre to Rs. 358.77, while diesel went up by Rs. 3.72 to Rs. 381.77 per litre.

Fuel Prices Continue to Rise

The government has been revising fuel prices on a daily basis. Since the daily pricing mechanism began, petrol has increased by Rs. 53.05 per litre, while diesel has risen by Rs. 56.44 per litre.

The repeated increases are likely to add to transportation and operating costs, which can also affect the prices of goods and services across the country.
