Punjab Orders Suspension of Specific Glycosting Injection Batch

Punjab health authorities have directed pharmacies, distributors and healthcare facilities to immediately stop the supply and use of a specific batch of Glycosting injection following reports of suspected adverse reactions.

The Directorate of Drug Control, Punjab, issued the precautionary alert under Alert No. 125/2026.

The affected medicine is Glycosting 1ml injection, which contains glycopyrrolate 0.5mg and neostigmine methylsulfate 2.5mg. The alert concerns batch BBG11, which has an expiry date of January 2028.

Suspected Adverse Reactions Reported

According to the health authorities, the affected batch was reportedly associated with suspected adverse drug reactions at several healthcare facilities across Punjab.

One of the reported concerns was severe bradycardia, a condition in which the heart rate becomes abnormally slow.

The Provincial Quality Control Board has ordered the suspension as a precaution while the relevant authorities investigate the reports and determine whether further regulatory action is required.

Manufacturers Asked to Stop Distribution

Manufacturers and market authorization holders have been instructed to immediately stop releasing, distributing or supplying the affected batch.

They have also been asked to provide relevant records, including manufacturing details, quality-control information, distribution data, complaints and pharmacovigilance reports, to the authorities.

Pharmacies and Hospitals Told to Quarantine Stock

Pharmacies, wholesalers, distributors and healthcare facilities across Punjab have been directed not to administer, dispense, sell or distribute Glycosting injection from the affected batch.

Any remaining stock of batch BBG11 is to be separated and kept in quarantine until further instructions are issued.

Healthcare facilities have also been advised to provide inventory and consumption details to the relevant drug inspector.

Public Advised to Avoid Affected Batch

As a precaution, patients and consumers have been advised not to use or receive Glycosting injection from the affected batch.

The suspension applies specifically to batch BBG11 while the authorities continue their investigation into the reported adverse reactions. Other batches should not automatically be considered affected unless separately identified by the relevant authorities
