Punjab Introduces New Rules for Theatre Halls in Lahore
The Punjab Council of the Arts has introduced new instructions for theatre halls across Lahore, requiring them to follow prescribed performance timings and monitoring requirements.
Under the latest directives, all theatre performances in the city must conclude by 1:00 am. Authorities have also warned that theatre halls failing to follow the schedule could face closer monitoring and action under the applicable rules.
Theatre Shows Must End by 1 am
The Punjab Council of the Arts has directed theatre managements to ensure that performances do not continue beyond the 1 am deadline.
Officials said the instructions are intended to improve discipline and ensure that theatre halls operate according to the regulations set by the authorities.
The council is expected to monitor compliance and keep an eye on venues that fail to observe the prescribed closing time.
Cameras Must Remain Operational
The new instructions also require theatre halls to keep their surveillance cameras switched on 24 hours a day.
The continuous camera requirement will allow authorities to monitor activities at theatre venues and help ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.
Theatre managements have been directed to follow the instructions strictly.
Authorities Step Up Theatre Monitoring
Officials said the latest measures are aimed at improving oversight and ensuring that theatre halls operate within the prescribed legal and administrative framework.
The Punjab Council of the Arts will continue monitoring theatre venues in Lahore, while halls that do not comply with the new requirements may face further scrutiny.
