11 Killed in Shooting at Home in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal

DURBAN: At least 11 people were killed and three others injured in a late-night shooting at a residential property in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, according to local media reports.

The incident occurred in KwaMakhutha township, south of Durban, with South African broadcaster eNCA reporting that a pregnant woman was among those killed.

According to the report, 10 victims died at the scene, while another person died from injuries while being taken to hospital.

The victims were reportedly gathered inside the property when unidentified attackers entered the residence and opened fire shortly before 11pm local time on Tuesday.

The attackers allegedly set fire to a vehicle belonging to the homeowner before leaving the area.

Authorities have not yet established a motive for the incident. Police have also not announced any arrests or publicly identified suspects in connection with the shooting.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
