Hayatabad Toll Plaza Underpass Inaugurated in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has inaugurated the Hayatabad Toll Plaza Underpass, a Rs1.6 billion project aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in the area.

The underpass was completed in 90 days and is designed to provide a smoother route for motorists travelling from Detour Road on the Bara side towards Ring Road.

The 500-metre-long project includes a 130-metre barrel, 665 piles and a two-lane underpass.

Officials said the new route is expected to reduce traffic pressure around the Hayatabad Toll Plaza and improve connectivity between surrounding roads. It is also aimed at reducing delays and making daily travel easier for commuters.

The project was inaugurated in the presence of provincial cabinet members, parliamentarians, political representatives and local residents.

The completion of the underpass is expected to improve traffic management and facilitate vehicle movement in Hayatabad and adjoining areas.
