Pakistan Beat Korea 5-3 to Win Asian Games Hockey Bronze

Pakistan secured the bronze medal in men’s hockey at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Korea 5-3 in an exciting third-place match at Kawasaki Juko Stadium in Japan.
The match remained closely contested for most of the game, with both teams level at 2-2 heading into the final quarter. Pakistan then produced a strong finish, scoring three goals in the fourth quarter to secure the victory and a place on the podium.
Korea made the better start and took the lead in the first quarter when Lee Gangsan scored in the 12th minute.
Pakistan responded before half-time, with Abdul Rehman finding the net in the 30th minute to bring the score level at 1-1.
Korea regained the advantage early in the third quarter through Park Cheoleon, who scored in the 36th minute.
Pakistan quickly responded again. Ghazanfar Ali scored in the 45th minute to make it 2-2 and set up a tense final quarter.
Pakistan took control in the fourth quarter through Waheed Ashraf Rana. He scored twice in quick succession, finding the net in the 52nd and 54th minutes to put Pakistan 4-2 ahead.
Korea managed to add another goal, but Pakistan maintained its advantage. Hannan Shahid then scored in the final minute to complete the 5-3 victory.
The win gave Pakistan the men’s hockey bronze medal at the Asian Games after a closely fought tournament.
Pakistan had earlier suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat against India in the semi-final after fighting back from a 3-0 deficit to level the contest.
The bronze-medal victory provided Pakistan with a strong finish to its Asian Games hockey campaign, with the team returning home with a place on the podium.
