Indian hawks blame US, China, Pakistan

A British media outlet reported that India’s undue support for Sheikh Hasina and interference in Bangladesh contributed to the overthrow of Hasina’s government.

Some Indian defense analysts believe foreign involvement played a role in her resignation, following a massive student uprising.

Retired Major General GD Bakhshi, speaking on a TV channel, attributed the fall of Hasina’s government to the actions of the US, China, and Pakistan. He claimed, “It is not such an innocent clear-cut case. Hasina Wajid had spoken about threats she received from the US and China.”

He further elaborated, “The US wanted to take over Bangladeshi islands, while China wanted its submarines docked in Bangladeshi waters. China used Pakistan’s ISI agents who connected to the Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh.”

General Bakhshi also criticized Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, set to join Bangladesh’s interim government as chief adviser, labeling him as a US favorite.

TV anchor Arnab Goswami asserted that the US deep state was involved in Hasina’s ouster. He accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of seeking a regime change in India similar to what occurred in Bangladesh, suggesting that Gandhi’s request for the US to review democracy in India was a plea for intervention.

The BBC described the collapse of Hasina’s government as a significant setback for India, noting that India’s excessive support for Hasina and its interference in Bangladesh contributed to her downfall.
