Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec invites Elon Musk to Istanbul for robot discussion

Turkish Medalist Invites Elon Musk to Istanbul for Robot vs. Human Shooting Debate

ISTANBUL: Turkish sharpshooter Yusuf Dikec has sparked a fascinating conversation about the capabilities of robots by reaching out to Elon Musk on social media.

Dikec, who won a silver medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, extended an invitation to Musk to visit Istanbul to explore whether robots could replicate his unique shooting style.

Known for his distinctive technique of shooting with his hands in his pockets, Dikec posed a thought-provoking question: can humanoid robots achieve similar feats and win medals with such an unusual style?

He directed this intriguing query to Musk, the visionary behind Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X.

Dikec posted on X: β€œHi Elon, do you think future robots can win medals at the Olympics with their hands in their pockets? How about discussing this in Istanbul, the cultural capital that unites continents?”

Musk responded confidently, stating, β€œRobots will hit the center of the bullseye every time.”

This exchange comes after Musk recently announced that Tesla’s humanoid robots would enter production next year. β€œTesla will introduce truly useful humanoid robots for internal use in limited quantities next year, with plans to scale up production for other companies by 2026,” he said.

Dikec’s invitation to debate the potential of robots in sports has certainly captured attention, setting the stage for a possible meeting between human ingenuity and cutting-edge technology in the vibrant city of Istanbul.
