Stellar Lineups Revealed for Women’s Volleyball Nations League 2026
The excitement for the upcoming Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2026 is building as the official 30-player squad lists have now been released on the competition’s website.
The annual tournament is set to bring together some of the world’s top volleyball talent, offering fans an early look at elite national teams competing ahead of the summer international season.
Officials confirmed that the squad lists are subject to final eligibility checks by the FIVB.
Italy Aim to Defend Their Dominance
World No. 1 side Italy women’s national volleyball team enter the competition as defending VNL champions and reigning world title holders.
Their squad features key stars such as Paola Egonu, Alessia Orro, Anna Danesi, and Myriam Sylla, forming a strong core under coach Julio Velasco. Italy continue to be considered among the strongest contenders for the 2026 title.
Brazil Eye First VNL Title
The world’s No. 2 ranked team, Brazil women’s national volleyball team, will once again challenge for their first VNL crown.
Led by captain Gabriela Guimarães (Gabi), Brazil enter the tournament with a balanced squad and high expectations after multiple runner-up finishes in previous editions.
Strong Contenders Across Nations
The competition also features several other strong teams:
- Poland women’s national volleyball team, led by Magdalena Stysiak
- Japan women’s national volleyball team, captained by Mayu Ishikawa
- Türkiye women’s national volleyball team, featuring star player Melissa Vargas
- United States women’s national volleyball team, with Jordan Thompson and Micha Hancock returning
- Serbia women’s national volleyball team, strengthened by experienced setter Maja Ognjenović
Other competitive squads include Belgium, China, the Netherlands, Canada, France, Germany, Thailand, and several rising European and Asian teams.
Tournament Format
Each team has named a preliminary roster of 30 players. However, only 12 to 14 players, along with up to four reserves, will be selected for each competition week.
The VNL 2026 is expected to feature high-intensity matches as teams compete for ranking points and preparation ahead of major international volleyball events.
