UAE envoy warns Pakistanis against ‘negative propaganda’

The Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq al-Remeithi, has issued a stern warning to Pakistanis living in the UAE, urging them to avoid spreading negative propaganda against Pakistan, its institutions, or politicians.

He emphasized that such actions on social media have led to arrests and severe sentences, including 14 to 15 years in jail for many individuals, and life imprisonment for more than five Pakistanis. Most offenders were deported.

**Visa Restrictions and Warnings:**

– The UAE Consul General warned that Pakistanis involved in negative propaganda would face visa restrictions for Gulf countries, including the UAE.
– He advised against sharing or forwarding any negative content on social media, stating that strict legal action would be taken against violators.

**Living in Harmony:**

– Bakheet Ateeq al-Remeithi highlighted that citizens from around 200 countries, with diverse religions and nationalities, live peacefully in the UAE.
– He noted that the Pakistani community in the UAE has grown to over 1.8 million people and appealed to them not to bring their political differences to Dubai.

**Visa Policies:**

– In response to concerns about visa restrictions, the Consul General clarified that there were no bans on UAE visas for Pakistanis. He assured that visas and other facilities are being provided at the Consulate.
– However, he mentioned that visa rules have been tightened.

**Travel Recommendations:**

– Bakheet Ateeq al-Remeithi suggested that Pakistanis explore the northern areas and other tourist places within Pakistan before planning trips to Dubai.

The Consul General’s message aims to foster peace and discourage any activities that could harm relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
