The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Tourism Authority has launched a public safety awareness campaign at major tourist destinations across the province to encourage safe travel practices.
As part of the initiative, the authority is distributing brochures and informational pamphlets containing important safety guidelines for both local and international visitors.
Tourists Advised to Avoid Risky Areas
Officials have urged tourists to exercise caution during their trips and avoid entering rivers, streams, fast-flowing water, and other potentially dangerous locations.
The campaign aims to increase awareness of safety precautions, particularly during the busy tourism season.
Awareness Teams Deployed Across Tourist Regions
Special awareness teams have been deployed throughout the Hazara and Malakand divisions to guide visitors and share safety information.
The campaign is currently being carried out at several popular tourist destinations, including:
- Chakdara
- Swat
- Naran
- Chitral
Officials are encouraging visitors to follow local safety instructions and cooperate with authorities while exploring these areas.
Campaign Follows Recent Accidents
The awareness drive comes after several tragic incidents highlighted the importance of travel safety.
A passenger bus travelling from Quetta to Peshawar recently met with an accident after falling into a ravine in Dana Sar, resulting in the loss of many lives.
Earlier this week, a boating accident at Saifullah Lake in Swat claimed the lives of several members of the same family, while search efforts continued for a missing individual.
Focus on Safe Tourism
The KP Tourism Authority says the campaign is intended to promote responsible tourism and help reduce the risk of accidents by educating visitors about basic safety measures.
