Pakistan, Russia Sign Protocol to Restore Pakistan Steel Mills

Pakistan and Russia Sign Agreement to Revive and Modernize Pakistan Steel Mills

Pakistan and Russia have taken a major step to restore and modernize Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), strengthening their long-standing industrial partnership.

The agreement was signed at the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow by Saif Anjum, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, and Vadim Velichko, General Director of Industrial Engineering LLC, in the presence of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali.

This collaborative project aims to restart steel production at PSM and expand its capacity, ushering in a new era of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

β€œReviving PSM with Russia’s support highlights our shared history and dedication to building a stronger industrial future,” said Haroon Akhtar Khan.

Originally established with Soviet assistance in 1971, Pakistan Steel Mills remains a key symbol of the enduring ties between Pakistan and Russia.
