Royals Rally in 10th Inning to Stun Blue Jays 7-4, Take Series in Toronto

TORONTO — The Kansas City Royals pulled off a dramatic extra-innings victory on Sunday, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 7-4 at Rogers Centre to win the three-game series.

Royals Come Back Late to Seal the Win

Kyle Isbel delivered the go-ahead blow in the top of the 10th with an RBI double down the line on the first pitch he saw—a 96 mph fastball from Seranthony Domínguez (2-4).

Moments later, the Royals piled on:

  • Tyler Tolbert hit a two-run single

  • Bobby Witt Jr. scored on a throwing error by Alejandro Kirk

  • Maikel Garcia added a sacrifice fly to cap off a five-run 10th inning

Game-Changing Moment

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Vinnie Pasquantino tied the game with a clutch two-out RBI single, keeping the Royals alive.

Toronto Tries to Rally But Falls Short

Nathan Lukes and Addison Barger each hit RBI singles in the bottom of the 10th, cutting into the Royals’ lead, but it wasn’t enough as Kansas City held on.

Toronto (65-48) lost a home series for the first time since June 20–22, when they dropped two of three to the Chicago White Sox.

  • Royals are also 9-7 in series-deciding games

Hunter Harvey (1-0) earned the win after pitching a scoreless ninth.
