PCB to Celebrate PSL Decade with High-Quality Documentary
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly planning a special documentary to mark the 10-year journey of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), highlighting its rise from modest beginnings in 2016 to becoming one of the world’s premier T20 competitions.
According to sources, the documentary will be produced to international standards, capturing the highs, lows, and defining moments of the PSL from 2016 to 2025. It will chronicle key milestones, including the league’s early years in the UAE, the successful return of matches to Pakistan, and the re-entry of international stars to home grounds.
Special attention will be given to challenges faced during the COVID‑19 pandemic, a period that tested the league’s resilience and ultimately strengthened its global reputation.
In under a decade, the PSL has grown from a fledgling tournament into a marquee event, credited with reviving international cricket in Pakistan and providing a platform for emerging local talent. Experts also acknowledge its role in enhancing Pakistan’s sporting image worldwide.
The PCB is expected to invite proposals from production houses and filmmakers next week, aiming to hire an experienced, internationally recognized company to bring the project to life. The documentary will celebrate the league’s past while showcasing the progress of Pakistan cricket over the last decade.
This initiative comes as the PSL continues to expand, with the PCB focused on maintaining its high standards amid growing competition from other global T20 leagues.
