As summer draws to a close, so too does the remarkable professional career of Geraint Thomas. On Sunday, the Welsh cycling star will line up for his final race at the Tour of Britain, marking the end of an era in the sport.
Known for his humility and dedication, Thomas has spent much of his career working in support of teammates such as Chris Froome and Egan Bernal, yet he still carved out a legacy of his own. His achievements include three track world titles, two Olympic gold medals, multiple stage race victories, and his greatest triumph — winning the 2018 Tour de France.
Thomas proved himself as one of cycling’s most versatile riders, excelling in time-trials, cobbled Classics, and mountainous stages. His resilience became legendary, with unforgettable moments like completing the 2013 Tour de France with a broken pelvis in support of Froome’s victory.
