Israel ramps up strikes on Gaza City and hospital says at least 32 are dead

Intensified Airstrikes Reported in Gaza City, Dozens Killed

Medical officials in Gaza City reported on Saturday that a series of overnight airstrikes resulted in at least 32 fatalities, including children, as hostilities in the region continue to escalate. The casualties were brought to Shifa Hospital, where staff confirmed the toll.

According to local health authorities, one of the strikes targeted a residential house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing several members of the same family. Aid workers say the situation in Gaza City remains dire, with many residents struggling to access basic resources.

Escalation in Gaza

In recent days, intensified strikes have been reported across the city, with multiple high-rise buildings destroyed. Israel has stated that these operations are part of an effort to weaken Hamas, which it accuses of operating surveillance equipment from within civilian structures.

The Israeli army has urged residents to evacuate as part of its broader campaign to take control of Gaza’s largest city. However, humanitarian agencies note that hundreds of thousands of people remain, facing challenges such as limited transportation, displacement fatigue, and uncertainty over where safety can be found.

Humanitarian Concerns

Aid organizations warn of worsening living conditions in Gaza, pointing to food shortages, overcrowding, and repeated displacements of families. Despite evacuation orders, many residents are unable or unwilling to leave due to financial constraints or lack of safe shelter options.

International observers continue to call for de-escalation and greater protection of civilians as the humanitarian situation grows increasingly difficult.
