Punjab to Launch Electric Bus Service in Wazirabad on September 17
The Punjab government has announced that Wazirabad will get its first-ever electric bus service on September 17, 2025. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will officially inaugurate the project, making it a major step toward eco-friendly public transport in the city.
Modern, Affordable Travel
According to officials, the new service will provide thousands of commuters with affordable and environmentally friendly travel options. In the first phase, fifteen electric buses will operate on key routes across the city.
The service is expected to benefit nearly 100,000 passengers daily, helping to ease traffic congestion and reduce air pollution.
Part of Province-Wide Expansion
The announcement follows the recent launch of the Green Electric Bus Service in Mianwali. Authorities confirmed that the government plans to expand this initiative across Punjab, gradually introducing sustainable and modern public transport options in more districts.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the project is designed to improve daily commuting, lower transportation costs, and contribute to cleaner air for urban residents.
