Lahore Reports First Confirmed Case of Monkeypox, Patient in Isolation

Lahore, September 18, 2025 – Health authorities have confirmed the first case of monkeypox in Lahore, raising fresh concerns about the spread of viral infections in the region.

The patient, Rehmat Ali, was admitted to Lahore General Hospital after showing symptoms similar to those of a viral illness. His condition was later confirmed as monkeypox following diagnostic tests conducted at the Health Department’s reference laboratory.

Patient Under Isolation and Treatment

According to the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, the patient has been placed in strict isolation to prevent further spread of the virus. Doctors confirmed that he is receiving treatment under close medical supervision, and necessary precautions have been taken to protect both hospital staff and the public.

Health Department on High Alert

Medical experts have urged the public to remain cautious and follow health guidelines to avoid possible transmission. The Health Department is also monitoring close contacts of the patient and has assured that preventive measures are in place.
