Government Announces Major Cut in Petrol Prices Across Pakistan

In welcome news for consumers, the Government of Pakistan has announced a major reduction in petrol prices for the next fortnight, offering much-needed relief amid ongoing inflationary pressures.
According to the official notification, the price of petrol (MS) has been slashed by Rs. 5.66 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs. 263.02 per litre, down from Rs. 268.68.
Prices of other petroleum products have also been adjusted downward:

High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Reduced by Rs. 1.39 to Rs. 275.41 per litre

Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO): Reduced by Rs. 3.26 to Rs. 181.71 per litre

Light Diesel Oil (LDO): Reduced by Rs. 2.74 to Rs. 162.76 per litre
The Finance Division stated that the latest price adjustment aims to ease the financial burden on the public and boost economic activity by lowering transportation and production costs.
These new fuel prices, effective from October 16, 2025, were determined based on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) after consultations with relevant ministries.
