Pakistan Offers to Host New Round of US-Iran Talks in Islamabad
Apr 14, 2026
Pakistan has offered to host another round of talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad, as efforts continue to support dialogue between the two countries.
According to a report by The Associated Press, Pakistani officials have proposed holding the next round of discussions in the coming days, ahead of the expected end of the current ceasefire period.
Two officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the offer has been made. They noted that the final decision will depend on whether Washington and Tehran agree to continue talks in Islamabad or choose an alternative location.
Although the previous round of discussions ended without a formal agreement, authorities in Pakistan consider the talks part of an ongoing diplomatic process rather than a setback.
Officials believe that continued engagement between the two sides is important to help prevent any escalation in tensions once the ceasefire period concludes.
By offering to host the talks, Pakistan aims to play a constructive role in facilitating communication and encouraging further dialogue during a sensitive time in international relations.
