Spain’s rising tennis talent Rafael Jódar marked his first-round victory at the Madrid Open with a special tribute to football star Jude Bellingham.

After winning his debut match, the 19-year-old celebrated by copying Bellingham’s signature goal celebration and writing “Hey Jude” on a television camera lens.

Special Moment in Madrid

The match took place at the Caja Mágica in Madrid, where Jódar battled through a tough three-set contest to defeat Jesper de Jong 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 after more than two hours on court.

Following his win, Jódar raised his arms in celebration and later shared a moment with Bellingham, who was watching from the stands. The two posed for a photo together, recreating the footballer’s well-known celebration.

Emotional Tribute

Jódar expressed his excitement after the match, saying he was surprised to see Bellingham attend. He described the Real Madrid midfielder as a personal inspiration and role model.

The young Spaniard also highlighted the significance of the moment, noting his admiration for Bellingham both as a footballer and public figure.

Previous Connection

Jódar had previously met Bellingham and other Real Madrid players when he was honored at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium following his 2024 US Open Boys’ championship win.

Rising Career

With this victory, Jódar continues to build momentum as one of Spain’s most promising young tennis players, drawing attention both for his performance on court and his growing profile off it.
