Pakistan Sports Board Introduces Athlete-Friendly Administrative Reforms

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced a series of administrative reforms aimed at improving sports governance and making processes easier for athletes and national sports federations across the country.

The reforms were introduced on the first day of Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani’s additional charge as Director General of the PSB. Wani, who also serves as Secretary of the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division, directed officials to simplify key administrative procedures related to sports management.

Simplified Procedures for Sports Federations

According to officials, the PSB has revised and shortened the affiliation proforma required for National Sports Federations.

The updated format has been designed to be more practical, concise, and user-friendly while still ensuring transparency and compliance with governance standards.

Officials believe the move will reduce unnecessary paperwork and improve coordination between sports bodies and government institutions.

Easier NOC Process for Athletes

The Pakistan Sports Board has also streamlined the No Objection Certificate (NOC) process for athletes and sports federations traveling abroad for:

  • International tournaments
  • Training camps
  • Sports events
  • Overseas competitions

Authorities said the revised documentation process is intended to minimize delays and improve administrative efficiency for athletes representing Pakistan internationally.

Focus on Athlete-Centered Governance

Speaking about the reforms, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani said the initiative aims to promote athlete-focused governance by reducing bureaucratic hurdles and improving service delivery within the sports sector.

He added that the PSB would continue working on reforms centered around:

  • Transparency
  • Digitization
  • Faster administrative services
  • Improved accessibility for stakeholders

Efforts to Improve Pakistan’s Sports System

The latest measures are part of broader efforts to modernize Pakistan’s sports administration and encourage greater participation of Pakistani athletes in international competitions.

Officials say the reforms are expected to create a more supportive environment for athletes and sports organizations while strengthening governance standards within the country’s sports structure.
