Sindh Announces Extended Holiday Schedule for Eid al-Adha

Sindh Announces Extended Holiday Schedule for Eid al-Adha
The Sindh government has announced a separate four-day holiday schedule for Eid al-Adha, extending the break beyond the three-day public holidays declared by the federal government.

According to an official notification, all government offices and autonomous bodies across Sindh will remain closed from May 26 to May 29, 2026, in observance of Eid al-Adha.

Earlier, the federal government had announced public holidays from May 26 to May 28 following approval by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The announcement comes after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the Zilhaj moon on May 17, declaring that Eid al-Adha will be observed in Pakistan on May 27, 2026. The moon sighting notification was issued following a committee meeting held at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in Karachi.
