Pakistan Announce 20-Member Squad for FIH Pro League Tour

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced a 20-member national squad for the upcoming FIH Pro League matches scheduled to take place in Belgium and England.

According to the Pakistan Sports Board, the squad was selected on the recommendations of the National Selection Committee after player trials held on May 19 and 20.

The selection process was also reviewed by the PHF Professional Development Committee, headed by Olympians Islahuddin Siddiqui and Hassan Sardar.

The PHF said the reserve players for the tour will be announced separately.

The federation also confirmed that the government has provided administrative, financial and logistical support to the national team on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Under the support package, players will receive a daily allowance of $110 in advance, while accommodation and travel arrangements for the tour have already been finalized.

The PHF added that Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in England and Belgium have also been directed to facilitate the team during the visit.

Officials believe the FIH Pro League matches will provide valuable international exposure to the players and help the team prepare for upcoming major tournaments, including the Hockey World Cup.
