China Appreciates Pakistan’s Diplomatic Efforts in Regional Peace Initiatives
Chinese President Xi Jinping has praised Pakistan for its diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional stability and facilitating communication between the United States and Iran during a period of heightened tensions.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing, President Xi acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting peace efforts and strengthening dialogue in the region. He also appreciated the contributions of Pakistan’s leadership in encouraging diplomatic engagement.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan had actively supported initiatives focused on reducing tensions and promoting stability. He noted that continued diplomatic cooperation among regional and global stakeholders remains important for lasting peace.
The prime minister also thanked China for backing Pakistan’s peace-focused initiatives and highlighted ongoing cooperation between the two countries on regional and international matters.
In addition to diplomatic discussions, Pakistan and China signed several agreements and memorandums of understanding during a business and investment conference held in Beijing. The agreements reportedly covered sectors such as information technology, telecommunications, agriculture, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and energy storage systems.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also met senior representatives from Chinese technology companies, including Alibaba executives, where discussions focused on long-term cooperation in digital trade, healthcare technology, cloud infrastructure, fintech and AI development.
Separately, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology announced new partnerships with Chinese organizations to support digital innovation, AI research, cloud services, 5G cooperation and technology training programs in Pakistan.
The visit also marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, reflecting the growing strategic and economic partnership between the two countries.
