British-Pakistani Boxer Hamzah Sheeraz Wins World Title in Dominant Fashion
British-Pakistani boxer Hamzah Sheeraz has claimed the WBO super middleweight world title after an impressive victory over Germany’s Etinosa Oliha.
The 26-year-old delivered a strong performance from the opening round, maintaining constant pressure with sharp and aggressive punching. His early dominance kept his opponent on the defensive and limited any chance of recovery.
The turning point of the fight came in the second round when Sheeraz landed a powerful left hook that significantly shook Oliha. Following the sustained pressure and clear advantage, the referee stopped the contest, awarding Sheeraz a technical victory.
With this win, Sheeraz secured the vacant WBO super middleweight championship, marking the first world title of his professional boxing career. The belt had previously been vacated by Terence Crawford.
After the fight, Sheeraz celebrated with his team in the ring and expressed gratitude for his achievement.
Speaking after the victory, he said he felt in control early in the bout and credited his first clean strike for changing the momentum of the fight in his favor. He also stated his intention to compete against top fighters in the 168-pound division in future bouts.
Earlier in his career, Sheeraz won the European middleweight title in September 2024 after defeating Tyler Denny. This latest achievement is considered the biggest milestone of his professional journey so far.
His world title win was widely celebrated by fans on social media, who described it as a proud moment for the British-Pakistani community.
