FDE Announces Summer Sports Camp for Students at Pakistan Sports Complex

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and the Pakistan Sports Board, has announced a summer sports camp for school students at the Pakistan Sports Complex during the upcoming summer vacation.

The camp is scheduled to run from June 15 to June 25, with training sessions held from Monday to Thursday each week. Officials said the program is designed to encourage physical fitness, recreational activity, and sports development among students using professional training facilities.

A total of 114 students have been selected to participate in six sports disciplines, including volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, cycling, and hockey.

According to the schedule, girls’ training sessions will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., while boys will participate from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The timing has been arranged to reduce exposure to peak daytime heat during summer.

Officials said the initiative aims to promote healthy activities during school holidays and provide students with structured opportunities to develop sporting skills.

The program is part of broader efforts to support youth engagement in sports and encourage active lifestyles among school-going children.

At the same time, some parents and school administrators have expressed concerns about conducting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the season. They have called for proper safety arrangements, including drinking water, shaded areas, first-aid support, and on-site medical assistance.

Organizers are expected to implement precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all participating students throughout the camp.
