Australia Look to Bounce Back in T20 Series Against Bangladesh

June 17, 2026

Australia will aim to make a strong comeback when they face Bangladesh in a three-match T20 International series, following a 2-1 defeat in the recently concluded One-Day International series.

The visitors have arrived in Chattogram with a significantly revamped squad, featuring several experienced T20 specialists as they look to turn their fortunes around.

Marsh Confident Ahead of T20 Challenge

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh expressed confidence in his team despite the disappointment of the ODI series.

The all-rounder returns to lead the side after missing recent matches due to injury and believes the fresh-look squad is eager to make an impact.

“We’ve had a big change in personnel, and the players are excited about the opportunity ahead,” Marsh said. “Our goal is to play positive cricket and compete strongly throughout the series.”

Experienced Players Boost Australia

Australia have strengthened their lineup with the inclusion of T20 regulars, including power-hitting batter Tim David and all-rounder Aaron Hardie.

Uncapped all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary has also been added to the squad, providing additional depth and options.

Marsh highlighted the importance of experienced players in the squad, praising David’s confidence and ability to influence matches in the shortest format.

Bangladesh Face Fitness Concerns

Bangladesh enter the series with a few injury and fitness concerns.

Captain Litton Das remains uncertain for the opening match after sustaining a muscle injury during the final ODI. Meanwhile, opener Parvez Hossain Emon is being monitored after experiencing illness.

Left-handed batter Soumya Sarkar is expected to join the squad as Bangladesh assess their available options.

Litton expressed optimism about his recovery and indicated he hopes to be available for selection.

Series Schedule

The three-match T20 International series will be played in Chattogram:

  • First T20I – June 17
  • Second T20I – June 19
  • Third T20I – June 21

With both teams looking to build momentum, fans can expect a competitive contest as Australia seek redemption and Bangladesh aim to continue their recent success at home.
