Ellie Kildunne: England Ready for New Challenges After World Cup Triumph

London | September 28, 2025 – Ellie Kildunne believes England will now be the team everyone wants to beat after their dominant World Cup victory over Canada.

The Red Roses produced a commanding performance on Saturday at a sold-out Allianz Stadium, sealing a 33-13 win in the final to lift the trophy and put an end to their run of narrow defeats in previous finals.

With an unprecedented 33-Test winning streak and a comfortable lead at the top of the world rankings, England have firmly established themselves as the No. 1 side in women’s rugby.

Kildunne, who played a key role in the campaign, admitted the challenge will only grow from here:

“If we have the ambition to keep improving in every training session and every game, there’s no reason why we can’t win the World Cup again,” she said.

A New Era for the Red Roses

The victory not only secures England’s place at the top but also sets the stage for their title defence in Australia in four years’ time. For Kildunne and her teammates, the focus now is on building a lasting legacy.

“From now on, we’ll always be the team in the crosshairs,” Kildunne acknowledged, pointing to the motivation it will bring to keep raising their standards.

With a packed stadium celebrating their triumph and momentum firmly on their side, the Red Roses are determined to turn this win into the foundation for a dynasty of success in women’s rugby.
