KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Sets Record $13 Million Prize Fund

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has announced a record increase in its total prize fund, raising the purse to $13 million, the largest in the history of women’s golf.

The updated purse marks the ninth consecutive year of growth for the tournament. In 2022, the prize money reached $9 million after a significant increase, and it has continued to rise each year since.

This year’s tournament, set to begin Thursday at Hazeltine National Golf Club, will feature a strong field, including all players ranked inside the top 100 of the LPGA points list.

World No. 1 Nelly Korda is among the headline competitors as she attempts to achieve a rare milestone—winning three consecutive major championships in a single season, a feat last accomplished by Inbee Park in 2013.

The U.S. Women’s Open earlier this month also featured a record purse of $12.5 million, reflecting the continued growth of prize money in women’s professional golf.

Organizers also announced the introduction of enhanced analytics powered by artificial intelligence, aimed at providing players with improved real-time performance insights and offering fans more detailed coverage of the event.

“We are proud to deliver a premier major on the LPGA Tour,” said Tim Walsh, U.S. Chair and CEO for KPMG. He added that the collaboration with the PGA of America and the LPGA Tour continues to improve both competition and viewer experience.

The tournament will be broadcast across NBC, Golf Channel, and Peacock, providing extensive coverage throughout the week.
