PM Shehbaz Sharif Expresses Hope for Long-Lasting US-Iran Agreement

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed optimism that the recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran will lead to a long-term peace agreement.

Addressing the National Assembly, the prime minister said Pakistan played a constructive role in facilitating dialogue between both sides during talks held in Switzerland, with the support of Qatar as a mediator.

He noted that discussions continued late into the night and resulted in a joint statement, with further technical talks expected over the next 60 days.

Shehbaz Sharif said he hopes the ongoing diplomatic process will help turn the MoU into a “long-lasting agreement” that contributes to global peace and stability.
