Machado’s 10th-Inning Hit Lifts Padres to 7-6 Victory Over Braves

The San Diego Padres secured a dramatic 7-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night, with Manny Machado delivering the game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning.

With a runner on second base, Machado drove a base hit into center field, allowing the winning run to score and giving the Padres their sixth walk-off victory of the season.

San Diego showed resilience throughout the game after falling behind 4-0 early. The Padres responded with a five-run second inning, highlighted by RBI hits from Rodolfo Durán, Sung-Mun Song, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Samad Taylor.

Tatis continued his strong performance by hitting a solo home run in the seventh inning, helping the Padres remain within striking distance.

Atlanta battled back and briefly took the lead through key contributions from Ozzie Albies and Mauricio Dubón. Albies recorded an RBI double, while Dubón added a solo home run to put the Braves ahead.

The Padres’ bullpen played an important role in securing the victory. Mason Miller pitched the final two innings, recording three strikeouts and earning the win.

Atlanta reliever Raisel Iglesias was charged with the loss after allowing the decisive hit in extra innings. Braves starter JR Ritchie delivered a solid outing, striking out seven batters over five innings.

The closely contested game provided plenty of excitement for fans and highlighted the competitive nature of the series between the two National League teams.

The teams will meet again on Wednesday, with Atlanta scheduled to start Martin Perez against San Diego’s Randy Vasquez in the next matchup of the series.
